Compliance Inspection Report
Millers Septic Service SDTF-02-05 Alexander
Dear Mr. Miller:
On April 18, 2018, Troy Harrison, Environmental Senior Specialist, representing the State of North Carolina, Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section (Section), inspected the above
referenced facility for compliance with North Carolina solid waste statutes and rules. The
following violation was noted:
A. 15A NCAC 13B .0841(j) states: “Septage shall be transferred to and from a detention system in a safe and sanitary manner that prevents leaks or spills of septage, including septage in
pipes used for transferring waste to and from vehicles.”
Millers Septic Service was in violation of 15A NCAC 13B .0841(j) During the inspection, the tank began to overflow onto the ground for approximately 4-5 minutes.
Millers Septic Service staff began removal of the spilled septage back into the pumper vehicle. It
was the understanding that lime would be applied on the ground where the spilled septage came in contact, however, lime was only applied to only a portion of that area.
