ADDITIONAL COMMENTS;
1 - Signage is posted on the entrance gate with all information required.
2 - This facility has a chain link fence and gated entrance that is lockable.
3 - Hours of operation are 7:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday and 7:00 am – 12:00 pm Saturday (Seasonal). Closed
Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Thanksgiving Day.
4 - This facility has 3 certified operators. Joshua A. Smaltz– expires 10/9/2020, William W. Harrelson – expires 4-8-
2018 and Maurice Wrighton – expires 10/9/2020.
5 - The service area is Camden, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank, and Perquimans Counties.
6 - Waste is being transported to the Centerville Turnpike CDD Landfill, Virginia Beach Va. (Virginia Permit
Number SWP 603.)
7 - Scrap metal is currently stored in metal containers.
8 - Non - Recyclable items are screened out and put in containers for transfer to proper landfill.
9 - Windblown trash was not an issue during this inspection.
10 - Records of waste received (weight & type) and waste transferred out were kept in good order.
11 - The waste stream consists of construction and demolition waste yard debris, single stream recyclables
and dry recyclable waste. Recyclables other than C&D will be deposited on the floor in a separate area and
loaded into open top trailers for transport to the Hampton Material Recovery Facility. C&D will be deposited on
the tipping floor in a designated area loaded into open top trailers and hauled to the Hampton Roads Recovery
Center. Incoming loads will be inspected by the driver, facility operator and equipment operators to minimize
chance of unapproved materials being accepted.
12 - Roads are made of all-weather materials.
13 - Facility is kept very clean.
14 – Facility has changed ownership and is in contact with the DWM permitting section to ensure the permit
renewal application has all documents needed for the new permit.
15 - Digital pictures taken.

with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
