ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of two 15,000-gallon above ground steel tanks for
storage and treatment of domestic septage (including portable toilet waste) and grease trap septage.
2. Set-back/buffer requirements appear to have been met.
3. The “No Trespassing” sign is posted for the site at the entrance to Field 3; however, it had fallen and will
be covered with vegetation upon spring growth. The sign will need to be repaired or replaced.
4. All weather roads are maintained for access to the site.
5. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained.
6. A spill was observed in front of the silver colored tank (see photo below). North Carolina Solid Waste
regulations and Permit #SDTF-0304 requires all spills to be immediately cleaned up and treated to
prevent any contamination of the surrounding area.
7. No odors observed in the area around the tanks.
