Thought I had responded to this, but apparently I haven't.
We have had other facilities that produced/generated a pollutant that wasn't recognized in the GP. In some cases we
had to move them into an IP, and in others it was not a concern as the constituents were not showing up in their SW
testing.. I think in this case if it looks like the source of the chromium is inside and is handled properly, we can go ahead
and issue the permit. Otherwise, they would need to justify why we shouldn't place them under an iP.

Hi Mike,
We've received an NOI for an existing facility in your region:
1) NCG03 — Harper Corporation of America for the Harper Corporation facility in Mecklenburg County. The site
discharges stormwater at 1 point to a UT to Steele Creek (C). The NOI is attached.
This facility is a small quantity generator of hazardous waste — specifically, chromium. The new NCG03 (just issued
today) doesn't require monitoring for chromium. Have you had experience with other facilities that deal with chromium?
Do you think this facility should be covered under a different general permit, or perhaps an individual permit? They do
provide details on their NOI about how they dispose of the hazardous waste, so maybe this is not a big concern.
Please let me know if the Mooresville Regional Office has any concerns about issuing a COC for an NCG03 for this facility.
Please also let me know of any potential impacts to wetlands.
