SUBJECT: Proposed Modifications to the Effluent Discharge Pipe (DCM#20090105)
LOCATION: Sheep Island (DA 286), Brunswick County, North Carolina
This document is being circulated for consistency review and comment by August 28, 2009. The US
Army Corps of Engineers is proposing to modify the effluent discharge structure at Sheep Island. The
Corps is proposing to insert a smaller diameter pipe into the existing pipe and extend the new portion to a
discharge point approximately 35 feet from the dike. Your responses will assist us in determining
whether the proposed project would be consistent with the State's Coastal Management Program. If the
proposed project does not conform to your requirements, please identify the measures that would be
necessary to bring the proposed project into conformance. If you have any additional questions regarding
