Dear Ms. Hathaway:
S
FIL E.
Thank you for your letter of 18 October 1995 concerning the proposed shoreline
development for Mt. Isle Harbor Subdivision. We understand that you will be applying to
Duke Power Company for a F.E.R.C. permit to construct boatslips, dredging and/or shoreline
stabilization in the docking area on Mountain Island Lake in Mecklenburg County.
If fill of waters or wetlands is required for this project (i.e., bulkheads, road crossings,
lot fills, etc.) then 401 Certifications will be required for the necessary 404 permits. You
should contact the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for these permits. DEM has no objection
to the construction of piers, boatslips or docks in Mountain Island Lake for this project.
Please call me at 919-73-1786 if we can be of any assistance.

Dear Mr. Horney:
Enclosed is a site plan and a dock plan for a shoreline development
at the above referenced subdivision. Application is being made to
Duke Power Company for the required F.E.R.C. permit to construct
boat slips for 38 boats at this subdivision. There may be dredging
and/or shoreline stabilization in the docking area.
We ask that you advise us, by return mail, of any comments you may
have concerning this development or of any permits your authority
may require. Your comments are a requirement of the F.E.R.C.
permit application. Thank you for your cooperation and prompt
response.
Please advise if additional information is required.
Sincerely,
