Dear Mr. Saieed:
On August 26, 2019, Brian Lambe from the Wilmington Regional Office of the Division of Energy,
Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection for Pier 33 located
Nutt St, New Hanover County, North Carolina. The site drains to Cape Fear River, which is currently
classified as Class SC Waters in the Cape Fear River Basin.
The following observations were noted during the DEMLR inspection (please see the attached
addendum for additional information about your permit):
1. Review self inspection and rain gauge records to ensure accuracy and completeness.The
documents were reviewed with onsite personnel to explain what is necessary for compliance.
2. Remove from offsite location and maintain concrete washouts.
3. Repair and maintain erosion control measures including silt fence, inlet protection,and
construction entrances.
4. Repair and maintain secondary containment for all hazardous chemicals, including the diesel
tank.
Thank you for your assistance and cooperation during this inspection. The repairs must be conducted
immediately for compliance. Please be advised that violations of the NPDES Stormwater General
Permit may be subject to a civil penalty assessment of up to$25,000.00 per day for each violation. If
