Send all suspdus e " Hi Stephanie, Yes, this is in square feet. The impact is the bulkhead and the backfill itself. The surface area of the impact is larger above pond level due to the slope of the land. The backfill will fill to approximately 1-2 inches below the top of the bulkhead and will extend as a level surface back to the shoreline. So the above pond level square footage is the total top surface area of the bulkhead and the backfill. Thanks! Above Normal Pool lake level: 600 Is this in square feet? Is this in Zone 1 of the buffer (any impact above top of bank is the buffer area)? Can you be more specific as to the impact. I have attached the shoreline stabilization form and help document. The help document contains instructions on how to fill out the document and the fee associated with permit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a Happy 41^! Stephanie Z. We do not expect any significant impacts to the hillside or the lake. We do not plan to remove any existing vegetation. We plan to install a wooden bulkhead approximately two feet off the existing shore line (which has eroded about five feet in the last thirty years before we owned the property). This bulkhead will extend approximately 145 feet. No disturbance to the existing shore line is expected. The area between the bulkhead and shore line will then be backfilled with stone. The steepness of the existing hillside will allow the stone to be placed without disrupting any existing vegetation along the shore line. The topography prevents access by any machinery so no related environmental impact is expected. The bulkhead will be installed by hand (except for a handheld pneumatic jackhammer to drive the piers), again minimizing impact. The stone will be backfilled after the bulkhead is installed eliminating runoff into the lake. We plan for bulkhead to extend from lake bottom (about 5 inches below mean lake level) to about two feet above the mean lake level. It will be secured with 4x4 wooden piers on four foot centers driven about 5 feet into the lake bottom (similar to what we did on our dock). These piers will be secured to the shoreline using deadman anchors according to code. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thanks!
