A copy of the General Certification is attached. This Certification may be used in qualifying for coverage under Corps of Engineers' General Permit No. 82-N-000-0031. Box 1890 Wilmington, NC 28402 ATTENTION: Regulatory Functions Branch Dear Sir: SUBJECT: Replacement of Bridge No. 71 on SR 1545 Over High Point Lake north of Jamestown, Guilford County, (B-2040) The North Carolina Department of Transportation intends to replace the above reference bridge facility with a new structure in existing location. Planned improvements will involve the placement of approximately 1400 c.y. of fill below ordinary high water in High Point Lake to accommodate additional approach work. It is anticipated that proposed construction may be authorized by the General Permit for bridge replacement (SAWCO-82-N-000-0031). Application is hereby made for a Department of Army permit as required for such activity. Attached is the permit application and drawings depicting proposed work. By copy of this letter, we are also requesting that Section 401 Water Quality Certification be issued by the N. C. Department of Natural Resources and Community Development.
