treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements

On February 22, 2005, the Division of Water Quality received a flow reduction request for
residences in Johnston County. The letter requests an allowable flow rate of 80 GPD per residential
bedroom based on the evaluated data for three similar existing subdivisions.
The water use data provided between November 2003 and October 20N with daily readings
taken during November 2004 was analyzed by central office and regional office staff with additional
ec..—matien requested. Based upon this data and the County response to our addl�c� lal i; lfa; r„a8ori
requests, the Division hereby approves the use of 80 GPD per residential bedroom, with a minimum
of 160 gpd for one and two bedroom units in all applicable non -discharge permit applications
Flow shall be incremented by 801gpd for each bedroom above two. Regardless of the ar}ii �etwi

The Steel Bridge Crossing, L.L.C. is planning a development for residential use consisting
of 26 lots located on approximately 16.4 acres. Holly Brook Subdivision is located within
Johnston County. Northeast of the intersection of Interstate 40 and NC Highway 210 and
adjacent to Old Roberts Road ( SR 1519 ). The project will consist of the construction of
roadway, to N.C.D.O.T. standards, that will provide access to the property. The
improvements will consist of roadway with open ditches and channels, a mailbox kiosk
area, water utilities and gravity sanitary sewer.
The project is being proposed to be developed in a single phase. The attached Fast -Traci:
Application contains the flow and infrastructure for the proposed phase of Holly Brook,
and is being submitted for review and approval.

McGee PS upgrade? Will it be early, middle, late 2020? We're concerned because there is quite a lot of
obligated (paper) flow to that pump station that if realized before the upgrade is complete, it will exceed
the PS's capacity. We're considering adding a special condition to this proposed sewer extension permit
that would require the Engineering Certification for the PS upgrades to be submitted before this new
sewer extension can be put into operation.

Thanks for your help. Please see below:
1. Item Vi.6 stated that Johnston County has been issued a flow reduction. However, this letter
was not included in the submittal as required. I've printed a copy and attached it with the
submittal, In the future, please make sure to include a copy of the flow reduction letter in the
submittal package. Thank you for adding the flow reduction letter to the package.
2. Please provide an approximate timeframe for the completion of the upgrades to the
downstream McGee's Crossroad PS, See attached "Flow Tracking for Sewer Extension
Application", page 3 of 7, Item c.
3, Item iX.1 was not completed (Separations). Please let me know which item should be checked,
and with the engineer's (Mr. Dalton) and permitee's (Ms. Farmer) permission I'll check it the
correct box to save time and not require the application to be resubmitted. The "Yes" box
should be checked. You have my permission to make that correction. Thank you for doing that.

comments/questions.
