Single Family Wastewater Treatment System

Nash County
On July 24, 2019 Ray Milosh from the Raleigh Regional Office visited your single-family
residence (SFR) wastewater treatment system to evaluate compliance with the above permit to
discharge wastewater. The checked boxes below show what conditions were noted at your
facility:
® In compliance: You are reminded to regularly maintain the chlorine disinfection and
dechlorination systems, have the effluent sampled once a year, and have the septic tank
pumped out every 3 to 5 years. Your good record of operation and meeting the permit
requirements is highly commended.
If you have questions or comments about this inspection or the requirements to take corrective
action, please contact the inspector or me at 919-791-4200. Licensed plumbers should be used to
make plumbing changes within your home. Contractors for installing disinfection or other
equipment may be found in the Yellow Pages under Environmental Consultants.

I met Mr. Bass on site. 'there were no signs of failure at the septic tank. He has had it pumped out in
the past 5 years. The pump tank and float and alarm are working, but the alarm has been sounding
and he has had to wiggle connections to get the pump o turn on. Mr. Bass was awaiting a plumber
who was going to make repairs that day. The above ground sand filter showed no signs of failure and
there was no discharge occurring at the time of the inspection, The chlorinator was just about out of
tablets and Mr. Bass added them during the inspection. Mr. Bass has had the the effluent sampled
annually.
