We have been pumping at a rapid pace with the dry weather recently before the hard freeze and snow, which I am fully aware we are not allowed to spread during. We were able to lower the lagoon to below the "start pumping" mark. All land covered has a Triticale/Cereal Rye, Crimson Clover, and Daikon Radish cover crop already planted on it. 2. Equipment seems to be in fair condition at this point in time to continue hauling as weather allows, and has been running fairly decent. 3. A waste sample was delivered to Raleigh on 12/29/2017, and results have already been received, in which a copy was forwarded recently to Melissa Rosebrock. 4. We plan on doing a better job in the future recording weekly waste pond levels. 5. Sand bags in the spillway to control runoff will be removed soon, as the ground is dry enough to get in there with equipment and not make a mess, and reseeded. We've been concentrating on hauling more than the sandbags at this point, to continue to try to lower the lagoon as much as possible. Thanks, Michael B. Lee Covington Dairy Farm, Inc. In reading the Laboratory Results section, remember that materials with < 15% dry matter (generally liquids) are analyzed as received; all other wastes are dried first. Values in the Estimate of Nutrients Available for First Crop section are based on the type of waste and method of application you specify and reflects the fact that only 40-60% of the nitrogen becomes available within one year of application. The remainder may or may not ever become available. ALE is Agricultural Lime Equivalence. The ALE DM% is percent Dry Matter [for semi -solid and Al = Aluminum Cu = Copper NH4-N = Ammonium -N indicates the amount of the waste material that solid waste, this value facilitates conversion of As = Arsenic Fe = Iron Ni = Nickel provides a limiting effect equivalent to one ton of dry -basis concentrations (ppm) back to B = Boron K = Potassium NO3-N = Nitrate -N ricultural grade limestone. wet -basis of original sample]. Per my supervisor, Sherri V. Knight, your email submittal may serve as an acceptable response method. Prior to your next compliance inspection, please make sure that the items in the Notice have been addressed, especially the removal of the sandbags and re -seeding. You may need to have the spillway re -surveyed to ensure that the elevation is still correct. Contact your tech specialist for assistance. Please let me know if you have any questions or need assistance. Your recent effort to manage the waste level in the WSP is greatly appreciated.
