Inspection Date: 07/12/18 Inpsection Type: Structure Evaluation Reason for Visit: Follow-up
Today's visit was to check on the progress (since the June 22, 2018 inspection) by Mr. Woody to bring the waste level in the new
structure into compliance. Mr. Woody was notified of this visit by text 30 minutes prior to my arrival. On -farm staff stated that Mr.
Woody had gone to Liberty, NC for a tank. There was no evidence of rain for the last several days. Hay has been cut and bales
observed in the field(s).
3. Stockpiled waste is still being allowed to accumulate below the push -off ramp near the old Harveststore
4. Waste level in the new structure is still above the maximum liquid mark and has flowed into the spillway. There is several feet of
vegetation prior to the waste level rising another three inches before cresting and flowing downhill. WASTE LEVEL,IS.STILLy,
NON -COMPLIANT (see 6-22-2018 inspection).
6. Small concrete pit behind the parlor has not yet been certified OR closed AND waste is not being conveyed to the new waste
structure as was stated to be completed in the narrative of the 1-26-2016 waste plan.
7. New waste structure needs to mowed as soon as possible. Is currently difficult to inspect the condition of the dam due to the
tall vegetation.
7. Need to mow the waste diversion/collection ditches and retention basins near the new waste structure so that the condition
and the amount of waste in them can be assessed.
8. Could not evaluate or confirm presence of marker in the new waste structure since the waste level was so high.
9. Waste in waste ditches and retention basins are filling up with sediment and manure. There is a concern that waste water will
not be contained to the ditch and retention basin and will flow around the structure and flow downhill towards the stream.
