Response to 2nd Plan Review
Mr. Anen,
We offer the following responses to your plan review comments dated June 26, 2019.
1. Table 1 of the low density supplement must be completed to show the allowable velocities
in the swales or calculations for actual and allowable shear stress must be submitted to
ensure that the swale are stable during the 10-year storm.
RESPONSE: See enclosed completed table 1. Also see attached calculations for the actual
and allowable shear stress for the swales and ditches.
2. Unless it's to be seeded or otherwise vegetated, jute mat is not an acceptable surface for
the swales. 15A NCAC 02H.1003 requires the use of vegetated conveyances.
RESPONSE: See enclosed swale and ditch vegetated conveyance calculations. The jute mat
details have been removed from the plan.
3. The original signed copy of the low density supplement must be submitted.
RESPONSE: see enclosed original signed copy of the low density supplement.
4. The plans should show the swales as being recorded in a permanent drainage easement
RESPONSE: See revised plans. All swales, ditches and drainage pipes are shown within 20'
drainage easements. See note 9 of general notes on sheet 3 of the plans indicating the
drainage easements are to be recorded.
5. Provide pdfs of all revisions, 2 hardcopies of revised plan sheets, and 1 hardcopy of other
documents. PDFs must be uploaded using the form at:
https://edocs.deg.nc.gov/Forms/SW Project Submittal
RESPONSE: The revised plans and documents will be provided as requested.
