In accordance with the requirements of the Industrial Stormwater Permit NCS000571, this letter
is written notification that Cliffside Steam Station is in Tier 3 status at outfall SWO04 for copper.
The benchmark value for copper is 0.010 mg/l. The 4th copper benchmark exceedance result for
the sampling event on 10/10/2018 was received on 10/26/2018.

Cliffside has taken measures to reduce copper by installing MetaLoxx socks in catch basins that
collect stormwater at outfall SWO04. New MetaLoxx socks are also planned to be installed.
