In accordance with the requirements of the Industrial Stormwater Permit NCS000546,please
accept this letter as written notification that Allen Steam Station is on Tier 3 status at outfalls
SW010 for Copper and SW020 for Copper.
Storm water samples for SW010 that exceed Cu benchmarks were collected on
8/19/2015, 2/20/2017, 4/23/2018 and 11/2/2018. The latest Stormwater analytical results were
received 11/25/18. Stormwater samples for SW020 that exceed Cu benchmarks were collected
on 1/15/2016, 9/1/2016, 3/6/2018 and 11/2/2018. The latest Stormwater analytical results were
received 11/25/18.
We are currently evaluating Best Management Practices (BMPs) to mitigate benchmark
exceedances.
