Complainant stated that cattle and milk waste was flowing across complainant's property and was getting into stream ❑ Denied Access Winston-Salem 201800596 Investigation began onsite at 01:35 pm, 04/04/2018. DWR staff met with Mr. Mark Snider and discussed the complaint. Mr. Snider was aware of an issue as he has been having to dump all of his milk due to a broken pump. In -ground, open concrete tank was overflowing, DWR staff could not see top of tank. Traced overflow offsite and towards nearby stream. Waste was not flowing into stream on day of inspection, but there was evidence that the flow had been going on for some time and would flow into stream during rain events. DWR staff did note a very well maintained vegetative buffer to the stream. Majority of cow waste is dry stacked and did not appear to be running off. Mr. Snider admitted he had not had the tanks pumped down for some time. DWR staff suggested keeping tanks pumped down and enhancing a berm at the fenceline to contain washdown onsite. Facility is currently milking about 20 cows, Mr. Snider plans to move cows from this facility within the next year. page: 1 Permit: AWD290043 Owner - Facility : Mark Snider Facility Number: 290043 Inspection Date: 04/04/18 Inpsection Type: Compliance Inspection Reason for Visit: Complaint Regulated Operations Design Capacity Current promotions Cattle ❑ Cattle -Milk Cow 99 Total Design Capacity: 99 Total SSLW: 138,600 Discharges & Stream Impacts Yes No Na Ne 1.
