REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Polanco:
On February 19, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated January 30,
2007, to impact 22,800 square feet of Zone 1 protected Neuse River basin riparian buffer and 15,200
square feet of Zone 2 protected Neuse River basin riparian buffer to construct the proposed residential
subdivision. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate
information as discussed below. The DWQ will require five copies of additional information in order to
process your application to impact protected buffers on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive
the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as
required by 1 SA NCAC 2H .0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this
additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your
project.
Additional Information Requested:
Buffer mitigation is required for the 1501inear foot crossing at western Virginia Water Drive.
Buffer mitigation is required for all road crossings that impact 150 linear feet of riparian buffer
or more. Please submit a mitigation plan detailing the amount of buffer impact at this crossing
and how the impact will be mitigated.
2. The geotechnical report provided in your application shows that bottomless culvert structures
(Con-Span) are appropriate only at Boring No. B-2, the northernmost crossing. Please submit a
revised application detailing the crossing structures, i.e. bridges, or culverts for the remaining
proposed crossings.
Please contact the DWQ within three weeks of the date of this letter to verify that you have received this
letter and that you remain interested in continuing to pursue permitting of your project and will be
providing the DWQ the requested information at a later date. Please contact me in writing and Mike
Horan of the DWQ Raleigh Regional Office. If we do not hear from you within three weeks, we will
assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as withdrawn.
