We believe the deficiencies and violations are related to highly turbid construction dewatering influent and not dissolved compound concentrations. In an effort to reduce effluent discharge turbidity without effecting construction activities and/or methods, two (2) Krystil Klear L8830 bag filters (0.5-micron nominal) in parallel have been added to the treatment system. Additionally, the two (2) (each with 10,000 Ibs of granular activated carbon) eight foot diameter Liquid PhaseCarbon Adsorbers PC 50 tanks/vessels have been replaced with new carbon vessels (of the same type and contents). The new components are in place near the intersection of East 5th Street and Reade Circle/Street in Uptown Greenville. As discussed during the June 7th phone call from your office, myself and Mr. Triantafillopoulos (Operator In Charge) will be on site Tuesday June 18th to meet with you and Mr. Robert Tankard. We intend collect weekly discharge samples during your visit. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us at (910) 452-5861.
