The first item was the change in acreage on fields BH-01, BH-02, BH-03, JP-03, JP-05. The old maps where hand drawn almost 9 years ago and the GIS mapping for Wilkes County has greatly improved since the last permit renewal. The old maps acreage was calculated using a ruler and measuring the edge of the field boundaries, which left room for errors and was a tedious job on fields with very jagged boundaries. We now have GIS mapping to allow us to accurately calculate acreage. Also, fields BH-03, JP-03, and JP-05 have had acreage reduced on form LASC due to more buffers being added to the field, with field JP-03 now showing less acreage then in the previous permit. The other items requested where changes in some buffer maps, these changes are as follows: Field BH-03 has a buffer on the access road and a stream buffer have been added and an acreage change on form LASC. Field BH-04 has had a stream and slope buffer added and an acreage change has been added to form LASC. Field BH-05 has had a slope buffer added and an acreage change on form LASC. Field JP-03 has had slope buffers added and an acreage update on form LASC. Field JP-05 has had slope and drain buffers added and an acreage update on form LASC.
