The State requires the Division of Water Resources to inspect these types of systems at least once every five years. The only area of concern from the inspection is that the effluent water has not been tested by a laboratory. Water samples from the effluent are required to be analyzed at least once a year by a certified laboratory. These records are required to be maintained and should be shared with NCDEQ upon request. The inspectors, however, were made aware that you have not seen effluent flow from the pipe hence why it has not been sampled. Laboratory contact information and a data sheet were provided to you in an event where discharge is seen flowing from the pipe. They are located to the left of the house hidden by bushes. Tablets are checked each month and added when needed. 2) Norweco chlorine tablets are used. 3) The system was last pumped November 2018 and it is reported that the system is pumped each year. , 4) The pipe was located to the back right of the house. Effluent flows onto a step aerator and then into a creek. The pipe and steps were clean. 4) Typically there is no effluent flowing out of the pipe. Due to this, the effluent has not been tested. 5) Information was provided by the inspector- lab contact information and the most recent technical bulletin.
