At the time, riparian buffers were not part of the coastal marsh and began at the landward edge of the coastal marsh, therefore no buffers were shown for this project. However, since that time, the rules changed so that the buffer zones and coastal marsh can occupy the same footprint. Buffer zones will extend from the top of bank or line of rooted herbaceous vegetation as in non-coastal counties. To finish processing this request, I will need updated permit drawings showing the buffer zones and any associated impacts. Also, the stormwater discharge from the bridge will need to be relocated outside of Zone 2. In the meantime, the project will be placed on hold pending receipt of the requested information.
