Dear Mr. Weaver:
I am sending you this letter to request the closure of NPDES permit NCG500096 for Whitaker Park
Facility. The permit regulates condensate from our Whitaker Park facility to Silas Creek, class C water
in the Yadkin — Pee -Dee River Basin. In November of 2017, we eliminated our discharge to surface
water by installing steam traps on our steam distribution system. These stream traps allow condensate
to return to our steam utilities system for reuse. This installation resulted in permanent elimination of
condensate discharge to surface water.
