In addition, the operator also trimmed the tree limbs that were in close proximity to the treatment plant. With the realization that the tree debris were going to be a continuing factor in WWTP compliance, actions were started to offer a permanent solution: trees were removed and the WWTP will be emptied and cleaned in preparation for repairs and coating. The cleaning will remove any accumulated debris in the plant that could potentially cause blockages in the sludge return line. The WWTP has been performing well in compliance with permit conditions with these exceptions which were inadvertent. The non-compliance was not due to operator or design deficiencies and were the result of other influences that have been removed. No environmental issues were observed as a result of these violations. DWR Response: Since implementing corrective actions at the wastewater treatment plant, the plant has not exceeded the BOD permit limits since June 2018.
