On behalf of the Buffalo Water District, we are submitting the following information for the subject project
(DWR Project ID No. 18-0901) for your review and approval based on receipt of your October 1, 2018 letter.
On October 26, 2018, McKim & Creed discussed the NCDEQ DWR's comments and concerns on the design of
the proposed water main crossing of the Neuse River with Mr. Paul Wojoski. Below is a summary of actions
that will occur as part of the design, bidding, and construction of this crossing based on our phone
conversation:
1. The Contractor will be directed to construct this crossing using a coffer dam system that meets the
requirements as identified in the design.
2. The Contractor will be directed to submit the coffer dam system to McKim & Creed, the Owner, and
the DWR for review and approval prior to construction. All parties must approve the design before
the coffer dam system is implemented.
3. McKim & Creed will extend an invitation to the DWR to attend the Pre -Bid Meeting, the Pre -
Construction Meeting, and a field meeting with construction personnel and project stakeholders prior
to commencing work to facilitate the Neuse River crossing. The schedule for these meetings has yet to
be determined.
