NCS000330 — ZINC MONITORING: Deal Sainai Bou-Gliazale: This letter is to notify the DWQ Regional Office that ATI Allvac — Monroe Site has collected the requested analytical monitoring for zinc from the. galvanized steel structures positioticd in the drainage area for our representative outfall. As requested, a 4th sampling event was conducted and the laboratory work was split between Pace Analytical and Prism Laboratories, Inc. The analytical range is likely due to the inconsistent amount of rainfall received during the sampling events, and how fast that rain fell. The Conditioning Bldg is in the process of installing a new roof, which is likely the reason the zinc levels for that building have increased. BMP's ate impletueuted to cottuol I)utctttial Suutces of zinc, such as hydiaulic oil and iLtbber from tire wear. Since there is no zinc in our products as stated previously, ATI Allvac requests NCDENR to revise Stormwater Permit No. NCS000330 and replace the benchmark value for zinc from 0.067 mg/L to a "monitor only" condition so the facility can continue to evaluate the effectiveness of our BMP's.
