Center Avenue, Suite 301 Mooresville, North Carolina Mr. Basinger, P.O. BOX 429 . KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA 28086 . 704-734-0333 FEB 21 i Our office received a Notice of Violation NOV-2019-DV-0069. On November 12, 2018 and November 15, 2018 the City experienced two SSO's at our Beason Creek PS. We had significant rainfall on both days resulting in flooding in the area. The pump station was not able to keep up with the incoming flow which resulted in SSO's on both days. The root cause was determined to be a mechanical issue with the pumps which decreased the discharge amount of each. We have installed new impellers and wear plates on both pumps which improved the pumping capacity. We are on phase three of our I&I study and significant sources of infiltration have been located and repaired. Our flow study is ongoing and we will continue to identify/repair I&I. We would appreciate your consideration of these factors when reviewing these SSO's. Should you have any questions please let me know.
