Mason; janet.russell@volkert.com; Farrell, Sean C Subject: Onslow Bridge 11 turbidity Attachments: End Bent 2jpg; End bent 2 H pile.JPG; Existing end bent 2 before H pile removaljpg AI I, The contractor is in the process of removing the existing structure on Onslow Bridge 11 (17BP.3.R.56) on SR 1423 Belgrade Swansboro Rd. When some of the existing H piles at the existing end bent were pulled out, they noticed water flowing out from the void left by the H piles. Although the turbidity curtain is presently containing most of the turbidity, and the amount of water coming out seems to have slowed, there is still water flowing out. They are going to try wattles to try to contain some of the turbidity. We have also asked them to make sure the curtains are correctly tied into the bank so that no turbidity escapes. They will continue to monitor the situation. I have attached 3 pictures. One shows what the end bent area looked like before construction started.
