Ron Boone of the Winston-Salem Regional Office of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR or the
Division)conducted a compliance evaluation inspection(CEI)of the City of Reidsville's wastewater collection
system (WWCS) on February 5, 2019. The assistance and cooperation of Lindsey Tuttle, Operator in
Responsible Charge(ORC), Ricky Fain, Pump Station Mechanic, and Cathey Justice, FOG Coordinator,was
greatly appreciated. A detailed inspection checklist is attached for your records and inspection highlights are
summarized below.
No significant permit condition violations were noted during the inspection. However, Mr. Boone did
note the following minor discrepancy:
1. The town's wastewater collection system capital improvement plan (CIP) needs a narrative section that
includes a goal statement and descriptions of the project areas and existing facilities for each project.
Although not considered severe in nature, the above-listed discrepancy still technically represents a
violation of the collection system permit and should be corrected as soon as possible.
Mr. Boone has conveyed to me that he thinks the city's collection system management program is very
good and needs little improvement.As we are aware that these conditions can change quickly, please remain
vigilant in properly managing the program to comply with all permit conditions.
