Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the facility: Backwash flows to an equalization basin and then pumped to thickner/clarifier for solids removal. Supernatant from clarifiers is dechlorinated with calcium thiosulfate prior to discharge. Solids are removed from the clarifiers to sludge drying beds for dewatering and disposal. 9. Sludge is pumped to drying beds for treatment and disposed of at the Robeson County Landfill. Clear water is discharged to the Lumber River. Sludge is pumped from the clarifier to the drying beds approximately every two (2) months.
