To reduce congestion and improve traffic flow and safety along the US 13 Bypass.

The project will improve US 13 Bypass, eMending from NC 58 (Kingold Blvd) to NC 91. The proposed US 13 cross section will add a center turn lane as well as a 5' pedestrian sidewalk
on each side of the road to the west of Contentnea Creek. The existing bridge on US 13 over Contentnea Creek will be retained. The project is approximately 1.1 miles in length, and
standard road building equipment will be used induding Uucks, bulldozers, and cranes.

The project has been designed to minimize wetland and stream impacts along the project corridor. Steepened reinforced 2:1 fill slopes have been
implemented in wetland and sUeam areas in order to minimize impacts. Some grass swale Ueatment will be provided by roadway ditches at the
beginning of project. Drainage has been designed to discharge outside of the riparian buffers and avoid direct discharge into wetlands.

The USFWS county list and NCNHP database were consulted for Greene County. Also, the project v✓as surveyed on March 15-16, 2018 for the red-
