This COC was renewed successfully, so the permittee can obtain the renewal COC from the original website
you tried. You can also find all the original documents in our Laserfiche Repository folder for this COC. Once
the COC request is submitted, the COC itself is sent to the requester via email, and then those records are
stored in this folder as well.

Hello Ms. Georgoulias,
Thank you for your quick response. We certainly will work with Mr. Hollifield and ensure that he gets back on
track as quickly as possible.
In 2017, we recognized that Mr. Hollifield did not have an active permit and a COC was quickly submitted to
the NC DENR on December 22, 2017. 1 have attached a scanned copy of the documents we sent to Mr.
Hollifield to sign and send off. Certified Mail confirmation shows the application reached the Raleigh, NC office
on December 28, 2017 (please see below).

Kristyn,
Unfortunately this is not a mistake. Permit COC No. NCG100042 is no longer active and has not been for
several years. This COC was inactivated back in 2012 after the Division did not receive any response from the
permittee to prior renewal correspondence. The permit had been expired since 2007. Please see the screen
shot below from our permitting database. Also attached is the letter that DWQ sent out when the Program
went through this effort to resolve permits that had remained expired for many years. Billing ceased in 2012.
It is only in more recent years that we changed over to an automated renewal process for general permit COCs
with up-to-date fees. Back in this permit's time frame, the renewal was processed when the permittee
responded to the renewal request sent out by the Division, to let us know they still needed the permit.

Mr. Hollifield will need to apply for a new Certificate of Coverage under the NCG100000 General Permit to
obtain active coverage for stormwater discharges. It has been 12 years since the original permit COC first
expired. You can find a Notice of Intent application for the Auto Salvage General Permit on our website here.
