Dear Mr. Buffkin:
The Division has reviewed your application,received on April 2, 2018, for renewal of NPDES
permit NC0089389. To enable us to complete our review in accordance with N.C.G.S. 143-215.1
and 15A NCAC 02H .0105, we need additional or revised information regarding your discharge:
1. Please confirm the treatment process of raw water, including all additives used for cleaning
or disinfection, as required in Section 7 of the permit renewal application.
2. Please confirm the treatment process of wastewater as required in Section 8 of the permit
renewal application. The renewal application only indicates that a valve is used to release
treated water back to the river.
3. Please confirm the maximum potential discharge (in MGD) of wastewater from Outfall 001
into the unnamed tributary to the Yadkin River [Stream Segment: 12-(52.5)], as the
information provided in Section 11 of the permit renewal application differs from that in the
Division's files.
4. Please provide an updated flow schematic. The schematic provided with the permit renewal
application does not show flow volumes at all points in the treatment process, where all
chemicals used in the treatment processes are added, and where the wastewater is sent, as
required in Section 15 of the permit renewal application.
This information is required in order to continue reviewing your request for renewal of the
Jonesville WTP NPDES Permit NC0089389.
