Another topic — I never got back with you today on a topic from the Mayor of Kure Beach.
I was working with her on a GenX analysis question. She mentioned an issue she had brought to the
General Assembly and Congressional delegation regarding an old Dow Chemical facility that has a
structure remaining in the beach. There's signage on shore warning people of the danger (sharp
metal structure sticking through the sand), but people cannot see it if they are in the ocean and
floating into it. She indicated a man had to get 20+ stitches for an injury. She's asking the GA and
Congress for money to remove the structure. I didn't know if there were any Superfund records on
this site and or if the work Jeannette Stanle%/'s had done looking at historic facilit%/ locations unearthed
