Becky,
Not sure where the Feb. 2017 date came from.
The permit was issued on Feb. 6, 2012 with an expiration date of Oct. 31, 2016.
DWR received a renewal application for the Chemours NPIDES Permit (NCO003573) on May 3, 2016.
Since the renewal application was received 180 days prior to expiration the permit is automatically
continued until anew permit isissued.
There is not an updated permit at this time; however, the assigned permit writer was hoping to start the
application review and permit renewal this August.
That was before all the news broke on GenX. The permit writer is involved and attending meetings with
[hemoursand learning the processes, etc soshe can expedite the renewal.
Having said that, we do not want to issue a permit until we are sure it is protective of the stream usage.
