The SAB voted to table further work on their review of the PFOA Interim 2L standard (2 ppb) and issuance of a
recommendation tothe DVVQregarding any change tothe interim standard. The SA8was considering alevel of1.0ppb.
Members will keep upwith the research going onand keep the SABuptudate. Reasoning — they were not comfortable
with data on "points of departure" from two studies, which is used in the consideration on the No Observable Adverse
Effect Level (NOAEU. That left the SA8with one study togive them information. The members felt that there was work
underway which will be valuable and they decided to wait until more study information is available. Current interim
standard is close to otherstate's standards. N] is said to be considering a level of0.4 ppb.
EPA's Office of Water is said to be working on a drinking water health advisory. One member thought EPA may focus
only on an acute number and not a chronic exposure, so the information may be less useful.
