Charles Worden McGrady, Co -Chair SUBJECT: Meeting Notice The Environmental Review Commission will meet at the following time: DAY DATE TIME LOCATION Wednesday August 231, 2017 1:30 PM New Hanover County Government Center The Environmental Review Commission will hold a business meeting on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 1:30 to 5:00 p. m., at the Andre Mallette Training Center, Human Resources Suite, New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina, to learn about the presence of the GenX compound in the Cape Fear River and its impacts on regional drinking water supplies, and associated regulatory issues. The meeting agenda will include an opportunity for public comment. In order that their statements may be made a part of the record, speakers are encouraged to provide the Commission with a copy of their prepared remarks at the time of the hearing; however, written remarks are not required. Oral presentations will take place in the order determined by the Chair, and will be strictly limited to a maximum of two (2) minutes. Persons who wish to present additional information to the Commission, and any DEQ-CFW-00013909 person who cannot be scheduled or heard in the time provided, may submit a copy of their statement to the Commission Clerk prior to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, for inclusion in the record. Note: As many persons as possible will be scheduled and heard within the time reserved. Because of time limitations, it may not be possible to schedule all who request to speak. The business meeting will be preceded by a site visit to the Sweeny Water Treatment Plant located at 1833 N. 5th Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28401 to allow Commission members to learn more about the Sweeny Plant's treatment technology and associated ability to remove GenX, and other contaminants and compounds, from the water supply. The visit begins at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, and is expected to last approximately one hour. This is a site visit; no votes will be taken. Subject to space limitations and operational requirements of the Sweeny Water Treatment Plant, members of the press and the public will also be accommodated for purposes of the site visit.
