HomeMy WebLinkAboutDEQ-CFW_00074266July 20, 2017 EPA Head Quarters RE: Request for Access to TSCA Confidential Business Information Chemours Chemical Manufacturing Facility Fayetteville, North Carolina Dear The State of North Carolina has requested from the subject Chert�o_r"s facility the following Confidential Business Information (CBI) documents suomitted to the Envirpnm ntal Protection Agency (EPA) which we have not received to date: • Documents submitted related to the chemieal,f'egistration for manufacturing of GenX at the Fayetteville, North Carolina facility, including aII health studies. • Documents for all chemical manufacturing registrations. • Full disclosure of chemical analysis for all manufaurm areas, and wastewat:outfalls 001 and 002 described in the current NODES permit conduct@d Y Chemours. We are expected to see EPA; National Exposure Research Lab test results for other GenX related compounds from' -he Chemours wastewater discharge and sampling conducted at water utilities above and below the discharge "point later in Augusts 2017. Those results will assist the state in setting NPDES parameters for a draft'renewal permit. Having acTss to the CBI material for all the manufacturing at the facility will ensure we have addresPall chemicals of concern in the permitting process. A list of individuals we request have access to the TSCA CBI material follows: • Dr. Amy Risen (DHHS) and Connie Brower (DEQ) —access to all available health studies. • Dr. Zack Moore (DHHS) and Linda Culpepper (DEQ) — access to identification of all chemicals used and generated at the facility from all chemical manufacturing areas.
