DRAFT STATEMENT
The director of the DEQ!s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) today* requested data from [hemours tolearn more about
emissions ofGenXatthe Fayetteville Works facility, and todiscover ifother emerging contaminants were released asair
contaminants.
DAQ Director K4ikeAbraczinskas made the request in a letter** to [hemous Plant Manager Ellis K4oGau8hyas part of
DEQ!s comprehensive review of the company's release of these chemicals. While air emissions documentation
submitted by Chemours for 2016 contains GenX air emissions data, DAQ asks for additional information related to GenX
and other emerging contaminants for the years ZOlZ to the present. DAQhas the authority to ask for the data under
DAQ asked for the GenX data to be submitted as soon as possible, within not more than 14 days. The company has up to
21 days to provide data on the other contaminants.
