The PWS Section implements the regulatory program to ensure compliance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act,
North Carolina Drinking Water Act and the associated national and state regulations. The drinking water acts and
regulations do not have standards for GenX or the other chemicals mentioned as these are considered emerging
contaminants for which regulations and maximum contaminant levels have not been established.
