Questions
1) Bladen Bluffs is surface water and Smithfield Foods is groundwater (per the map on the DEQ site). Are both water
sources available to Smithfield foods, and can we confirm what these two water sources are used for?
Z) L[FVVSA Raw: \Nebshe says raw water is provided to other drinking water utilities. Can we confirm how this water is
used? Also, L[FVVSAismarked on the map as avveU. |sthat true, and is it recharged naturally oriswater pumped into it?
(Concentrations are more similar to surface waters, not wells)
3) International paper, NW Brunswick, Pender Co. 421 & CFPUA: Do we know if these WTPs are using 100% Cape Fear
River water? And do they have alternate water sources they can blend in?
4)[FPUAprovided test results Friday with high GenX concentrations and requested a response regarding health. Upon
searching their xvebsite, | found that they are also claiming that the "Ogden Park" water source is free ofGenX. Can we
get their lab report for Ogden Park and confirm this water has no/low GenX? We would also like to see validation of the
data CFPUA provided (which shows much higher levels of GenX than Test America or EPA
5\The DBldata table has a fuutnote#4 regarding the possibility that data is biased high and |'d like to understand more
about that. Additiona I ly, it's unclear to me if 7/03 results have been corrected for recovery of internal standards yet.
Could we arrange a time to talk about these and other QA aspects?
6) Regarding the discharges: Chemours outfall 002 concentrations aren't dropping. Do we know when that discharge will
stop? And does DEQ know if there are additional sources of GenX that have not yet been mitigated?
7) DHHS is contemplating if graph would be a more user friendly data presentation than a table, and have created the
graph below. What do you think?
