TECHNICAL ANALYSIS TO SUPPORT PERMIT APPLICATION
The Actual and Potential Emissions of nonmethane hydrocarbon plus oxides of nitrogen (NMHC+NOx),
carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM) are determined below using the emission limitations
specified in Table 1 of 40 CFR 89.112(a) and the NC Division of Air Quality policy to calculate the potential
emissions of emergency engines based on 500 hours per year of operation.

* nonmethane hydrocarbon (NMHC) plus oxides of nitrogen (NOx)
Note: The actual and potential emissions of NOx and VOC were estimated using the relative fraction of those
two components from the DAQ GAS & DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES EMISSIONS
CALCULATOR spreadsheet, namely 92.5% NOx and 7.5% VOC, and applying those fractions to the
calculated emissions of nonmethane hydrocarbon plus oxides of nitrogen (NMHC+NOx).

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS TO SUPPORT PERMIT APPLICATION
The actual and potential emissions of sulfur dioxide (S02) and the below listed Toxic and Hazardous Ari Pollutants are estimated
using the respective emission factors from the DAQ GAS & DIESEL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES EMISSIONS
CALCULATOR spreadsheet, and using the 100 hr/yr limit of Part 63 Subpart ZZZZ for the Actual Emissions and using the NC-
DAQ policy of 500 hr/yr of operation for emergency engines for the Potential Emissions.
