By the way, if you need additional sample bottles / acid vials for next week's sampling, please let us know. I know that
additional sample sites were added to the Fayetteville set, but there were already additional bottles in that set I
believe. If Wilmington needs more, I will pick up tomorrow from the EPA facility.

Subject: QC for GenX sampling this week / next week
After the conference call with Chemours yesterday afternoon, we are adding the following to the sampling protocols in
FRO and WiRO:
- Wilmington will add the EPA prepared QC samples they received (the three bottles sealed with red tape) to the
TestAmerica sample shippers this week. Please add these samples to that paperwork and be sure to note that
they are preserved with nitric acid.
- FRO and WiRO will receive QC samples for inclusion in next week's shipments as well. l am supposed to be
picking up the QC materials from EPA tomorrow and . Plans are to have sets for the EPA coolers as well as
TestAmerica coolers.
I have included comments received from Mark Strynar this morning at the end of this message.
Linda, if I misrepresented any of these details, please correct me. Contact me if you have questions that I can
address. Thanks!

Subject: RE: Analytes
Confirm that you want the Wilmington QC materials submitted to TestAmerica rather than being returned to you
(including Trip Blank?) Please send the two trip spikes (high and low) and trip blank to Test America from the Wilmington
QC samples I prepared last week.
Fayetteville QC samples are in the cooler with site samples awaiting delivery to your lab when the Wilmington set
arrives. Please bring the samples to my lab on or before COB Thursday 6-29-17. 1 am out of the office on 6-30-17.
Also confirm that your laboratory will prepare more QC materials for next week's sampling for inclusion in both
Fayetteville and Wilmington sets. I will prepare new QC samples for the Wilmington/Fayetteville sampling set for
inclusion in next week's field activity. You can pick those up when you drop off samples tomorrow (6-29-17). 1 will have
empty bottles prepared for your needs and nitric acid spikes.
Finally, confirm that your laboratory will prepare the "blind" sample set for TestAmerica next week (no HNO3
preservation.) I will have an analyst at our location who is not included in our study team to prepared the above QC
samples (trip blank, high spike, low spike) and the test America QC samples (trip blank, high spike, low spike) blind to us
all. I have not asked yet however Adam Swank EPA/ORD/NHEERL would be good for this effort. The Test America
samples will not include nitric acid as requested.
Mark
Thanks.
