The Aquatic Toxicology Branch («JB) thanks all regional office staff for your cooperation in the Division's effort to monitor toxicity in North Carolina's waters. We especially thank you for your efforts in helping meet the Division's goal oftesting all major permitted facilities within alO'yearperiod. FrOMITEINTIM * Try togive usasmuch advance notice aspossible when scheduling tests. This will allow ustoavoid scheduling conflicts and help to ensure that we have an adequate number of test organisms available for all scheduled w [heck with us prior to scheduling tests with Fathead Minnow or K4ysid shrimp requirements. We purchase Fatheads and Mysidsfnom a commercial supplier and may need to secure funds prior to purchasing. This is especially important inJune and July. * Contact us if you vvuu|d like to complete additional toxicity testing for facilities experiencing problems or for special projects and/or unique circumstances. VVeare more than happy toperform toxicity testing onsamples other than those used tosatisfy the annual testing requirement. ATB also thanks all of the regional office staff that have communicated with us offering suggestions, comments and seeking clarification regarding toxicity testing and sampling procedures.
