GenX Manufacturing Process
qGenX CASN is 13252-13-6, C6HF11O3 (FYI - this is not the CASN I was originally given for GenX),
, identified as the "precursor" in the manufacturing process of fluoropolymer resin products. This is the tT
chemical identified in the NCSU research release and in the CFR. It is also the reference standard that /,1
GEL Labs used for the generation of the GenX calibration curve. #t-PO

CASN 3330-15-2, C5HF11O, is produced during the fluoropolymer manufacturing process
See: https://chem.nlm.nih.gov/chemidplus/rn/3330-15-2
The resin manufacturing process: CASN 62037-80-3 is manufactured by mixing GenX (CASN is 13252-
13-6) with an ammonium hydroxide solution. CASN 62037-80-3 controls the polymerization to make
fluoropolymers. During the resin manufacturing process, CASN 62037-80-3 is transformed into the
hydrophobic water -insoluble hydride (CASN 3330-15-2). During the manufacturing process, the CASN
3330-15-2 hydride and GenX are emitted to the air, and GenX and CASN 62037-80-3 are emitted to
wastewater.
