I just got a call from Mr. Riddle, a citizen in the Grays Creek area of the recently
reclassified Cape Fear WS-IV watershed. He wants a list of permits that the proposed
project will require, so I gave him your e-mail address. I mentioned that there would
be a Division of Environmental Health (DEH) intake permit, a DEH permit for the
plant, and a NPDES permit for the plant. I mentioned there may be other permits
required as well, such as a Stormwater permit and Sedimentation and Erosion Control
Plan, and that some of the permits have the opportunity for public hearings
associated with them. I told him what an EA is, and about how the EA would likely
have a list of permits. He may want a copy of the EA. He appears to have concerns
regarding the reclassification and project. Feel free to call me if you would like to
know more about the concerns and questions he voiced during the conversation I just
had with him today, and the answers I gave him.
