Chad and Mark,
I have reviewed the list of IVICIFBA coalition Permittees and there are 11 facilities that could benefit from having
upstream hardness samples taken. See attached list. Note, only one is required to do so at this time.
1permktee—requiredinpermit
1permktee—required indraft permit
5 permittees — have pretreatment programs and hardness sampling will be put in their permit renewals and hardness
data collected for their applications would be extremely useful
1 POTW—samp|es for Cu and data would be used in renewal assessment of limits
2 permittees — Water Treatment Plants and data would be used in renewal assessment of limits, if none available NPDES
will just ask WTP to take five samples at renewal. An RPA will then be performed to see if metal(s) limits or monitoring
will be required and only then will we know if hardness upstream sampling will be put in their permit renewal.
1 industrial —will definitely have upstream hardness sampling requirements added at renewal and collecting data now

11 permittees would benefit from collecting upstream hardness data (3 WTPs)
2 industrials — will have to be assessed to see if hardness needed at renewal, not needed at this time
Hope this helps, this is the best assessment I can do at this time.
