Dear Ms. Holman:
Pursuant to § 270.42(b)(2), the permittee of a Hazardous Waste Management Permit must send a
notice of a Class 2 modification request to all persons on the facility mailing list and to the
appropriate units of State and local government as specified in 40 CFR 124.10(c)(1)(x), and must
publish this notice in a major local newspaper of general circulation.
The DuPont Company — Fayetteville Works ("DuPont"), located in Bladen County, North
Carolina, is seeking Class 2 modifications of the subject RCRA Hazardous Waste Management
Permit, and as such is sending you this notice as required by § 270.42(b)(2).
The requested modifications involve: 1) changes to the Waste Analysis Plan (a Class 2 permit
modification); 2) changes to allow the storage of small containers in cabinets located in the
Hazardous Waste Container Storage Area (a Class 2 permit modification); and 3) changes to the
listing of satellite accumulation areas at the site (a Class 1 permit modification).

in the Bladen Journal, a major newspaper of general circulation located in Elizabethtown, NC.
This public notice gives the details of the requested permit modification, announces a 60-day
comment period in accordance with §270.42(b)(5), announces the date, time, and place for a
public meeting held in accordance with §270.42(b)(4), and announces the location where copies
of the modification request and any supporting documents can be viewed and copied.
