Greg:
This morning we had a release of one (1) pound of methylene chloride (reported to the NRC as
dichloromethane).
Since the quantity was not immediately known, a precautionary report of the release was made to the National
Response Center, the NC Division of Emergencfy Management, the LEPCs of Bladen and Cumberland
Counties so as to comply with the 15-minute notification requirement of CERCLA and EPCRA.
The release obviously did not exceed the 1000-lb. reportable quantity under CERCLA, nor did it exceed the
24.85 lb/hr methylene chloride TAP limit on our Title V Air Permit.
