P.S.- Permitting Procedures
DAQ has established two new procedures that allow Title V permit holders to expedite implementing changes
at their facilities. Both procedures, authorized under the Clean Air Act, allow changes to be made prior to
revising the Title V permit.
Minor Permit Modifications - Changes that qualify as "minor" still require a permit application,
however the change can be made immediately after the NCDAQ determines that your application
describing the change is complete. See 15ANCAC 2Q .0515 and
[http://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/air-quality/air-quality-permits/application-forms-instruction
s/implementing-tv-minor-modifications-prior-permit-revision] for more information about what
changes qualify as "minor."
Off Permit 502(b)(10) Changes - Changes that qualify as "502(b)(10)" can be made seven (7) days
after notification (no application needed) to the NCDAQ and the federal EPA. See 15A NCAC 2Q
.0523 and
[http://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/air-quality/air-quality-permits/application-forms-instruction
s/notification-form-title-v-permit-502b10-changes] for more information about what changes
qualify as "502(b)(10)" and for the 502(b)(10) Notification Form.
